Gratis Point of Sale : POS software25.10.26

Gratis POS lets businesses record sales, complete customer checkouts, process returns, and manage daily point-of-sale work from a lightweight Linux desktop workspace. It brings products, inventory, vendors, user accounts, and operational records together for growing, medium-sized, and large businesses. Developed by pharm, Gratis Point of Sale is open-source software for Linux desktop systems.

Users can organize products into categories, maintain vendor records, add stock, and monitor how items move through sales and returns. Its inventory tools track total inventory value, record expiration dates, and generate automated restock order lists. Sales reports and business insights help owners make commercial decisions, improve profit margins, and manage staff productivity.

Version 25.10.26 targets x86_64 (amd64) systems and requires Linux with snapd. Its Snap distribution uses Canonical’s snapd background service and is represented by the command snap install gratis-pos.

A standalone executable is also available, bundling the required libraries, using standard file paths, adding Gratis POS to the system applications menu, and matching the native desktop theme. That alternative accommodates Linux Mint, Debian, and custom Linux setups, including situations involving missing dependency errors or users who prefer not to use Canonical’s snapd service.
