InfluxDB captures operational measurements, events, and sensor readings so teams can inspect live system behavior and respond to changing conditions. It stores and analyzes time-series data for DevOps monitoring, real-time analytics, and applications that produce continuous telemetry. Its design accommodates high-resolution streams from edge devices, physical AI systems, industrial equipment, energy networks, and aerospace platforms.

The engine can ingest millions of data points per second and millions of series while keeping storage and compute demands predictable. Efficient compression and storage support fast ingestion, while real-time transformations and analysis can operate across unlimited series. Data can be collected where it is generated and analyzed elsewhere without redesigning the surrounding pipeline.

InfluxDB can automatically evict colder data and stream it into data lakes, warehouses, and AI/ML pipelines; Parquet storage preserves more information in less space. This makes it useful for detecting equipment problems, analyzing grid or satellite telemetry, monitoring infrastructure, and feeding predictive models with granular sensor signals.

Written in Go, it has no external dependencies and avoids requiring separately managed services such as Redis, ZooKeeper, Cassandra, or HBase. InfluxData’s open-source influxdb 2.0.0-beta.16 runs on Linux systems with x86_64 (amd64) architecture and requires snapd.
