Turn ordinary typed characters into decorative lettering directly from an Android virtual keyboard. Irregular Expressions adds expressive styles in places where standard formatting controls are unavailable, including messages, social posts, and other text-entry fields. Its purpose is character styling rather than formatting complete documents.

The keyboard offers more than 30 visual treatments, including Gothic or Old English lettering, small capitals, upside-down text, and script-like writing. Styled output can be entered into text messages, tweets, Facebook posts, and other areas that accept typed text. Each style changes the characters themselves, so the result can be pasted or entered wherever the surrounding service supports those characters. As an open-source System Tools utility, it is aimed at Android users who want to vary the appearance of casual communication and social writing.

Irregular Expressions requires Android 11 or later and uses a Universal architecture. Its compatibility guidance also notes that Android Oreo 8.0 or newer is needed for the full selection of styles, while some characters may be unsupported on older Android releases; the final appearance can therefore depend on the device’s software. The current version is 2.7.0.
