jobbergate-agent

jobbergate-agent runs on a host to connect the Jobbergate platform with HPC infrastructure, sending agent data to the Jobbergate API and managing job submissions to SLURM clusters. Distributed as a snap, it deploys the Jobbergate Agent Python package as an essential local component of that platform. Its background task service can submit jobs, communicate with the API, and check for updates to the agent itself.

Before use, configure the Jobbergate API server URL, the OIDC authentication domain, and the client ID and client secret for the OIDC application. The task-jobs-interval-seconds setting controls how often internal tasks send data and defaults to 30 seconds, while task-self-update-interval-seconds controls update checks and is optional with a documented default of 30 seconds (1 hour). Optional sbatch-path and scontrol-path settings point to the host’s SLURM commands and default to /usr/bin/sbatch and /usr/bin/scontrol; default-slurm-work-dir sets the submission directory and defaults to /tmp.

For cluster identity handling, slurm-user-mapper maps the host user to a SLURM user, defaulting to none, while single-user-submitter selects the account used for submissions and defaults to ubuntu. write-submission-files accepts true or false and defaults to false, allowing the agent to write job submission files to disk when enabled.
