KeepOn changes your device’s screen-timeout setting so the display stays awake for a duration you select. Its Quick Settings control makes this available from the system panel, without requiring the full app interface. When the screen turns off, it can restore the normal timeout automatically, so temporary changes do not persist. The app adjusts its behavior to your device configuration for more direct control.

A built-in Tasker/Locale plugin lets compatible automation apps call KeepOn functions, including triggering workflows around screen-timeout changes. This suits reading, cooking, presentations, navigation, testing, or any activity where the display should remain visible without repeated taps. Its lack of ads, tracking, and Internet use also keeps the utility focused on the local device.

KeepOn is an open-source System Tools application for Android 9 and later, with arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 builds. Operation uses WRITE_SETTINGS to modify timeout values, FOREGROUND_SERVICE to detect screen-off events and other timeout changes, REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS to keep KeepOn running, and POST_NOTIFICATIONS to show its running notification.

Version 2.2.1 adds a Tasker/Locale event trigger for automations when KeepOn resets the timeout after screen-off, and fixes a rare Quick Settings tile crash during device backup or restore; it also improves stability and updates dependencies. The project credits Coil and the Roboto, Bitter, Open Sans, Caudex, Poppins, and Lora fonts used in its interface.
