led-scrolling-display1.1

led-scrolling-display turns a Linux laptop or desktop screen into a scrolling LED-style message board, moving entered text across the display. It provides a simple way to show greetings, notices, or other short messages prominently on an ordinary computer screen. Users enter the wording in the text input, choose from the available display options, and see adjustments take effect immediately. Multiple messages can be supplied as a semicolon-separated string, with a gap setting controlling the space between each substring.

For example, Happy Diwali;Subh Labh;Happy Chhata;Jai Laxmi Mata with a gap of 10 scrolls those greetings in sequence with ten spaces between them. In that example, the visible dots represent spaces between messages, making the separation clear as the text moves across the screen. A double left-click switches the display to full-screen mode, while a double right-click returns it to a window.

The program suits desktop operators creating informal event signage, festive greetings, or other continuously scrolling text for a laptop or desktop. Developed by Gulshan Chaurasia, it is open-source software in the System Tools category. Version 1.1 requires Linux with snapd and is built for x86_64 (amd64) systems.
