Librera Reader lets readers open books and PDF documents, adjust their presentation, and continue from saved reading positions. It handles PDF, EPUB, MOBI, DjVu, FB2, TXT, RTF, AZW, AZW3, HTML, CBZ, CBR, DOC, and DOCX files, including documents packed in ZIP archives. This open-source Android reader in the Reading & Writing category is designed for detailed control over how digital books appear.

A configurable auto-scan searches chosen folders, while an in-app file explorer, Recent view with progress indicators, bookmarks, annotations, and EPUB3 tables of contents provide several ways to find and organize reading material. Day and Night modes, link colors for footnotes and endnotes, offline dictionaries, vertical-scroll locking, document centering, custom CSS, and single-page display for two-page documents cover presentation preferences. Musician’s mode scrolls hands-free at an adjustable speed, and RSVP reading presents text in a rapid sequential format.

Customizable text-to-speech includes a built-in media player and page-by-page recording to MP3 or WAV. Multi-word search, right-to-left language support, movable bookmarks with a floating indicator, leading initials in FB2 files, settings import and export, and automatic backup of the current session add useful tools for study, reference, and extended reading.

The F-Droid build uses the latest MuPDF and, compared with Librera PRO on Google Play, omits Google Play services and Google Drive book synchronization. Version 9.6.39-fdroid runs on Android 7.0 or later for arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices. Books can also be read in a browser through the Librera Book Reader at librera.mobi/online-book-reader/.
