About
linuxptp is an open-source system-tools package for Linux. It provides several separate commands from the linuxptp implementation rather than presenting the implementation as one command. The tools are made available through Linux’s snap format. It is intended for users who need access to PTP-based timing functions and related linuxptp utilities on that platform.
Its command set includes linuxptp.ptp4l, linuxptp.phc2sys, linuxptp.phc-ctl, and linuxptp.hwstamp-ctl. It also includes linuxptp.pmc, linuxptp.timemaster, linuxptp.ts2phc, linuxptp.tz2alt, and linuxptp.nsm. This separation lets users work with the particular part of the toolset represented by each command. The package therefore groups multiple timing-related utilities while keeping their command interfaces distinct. Usage instructions and discussions of snap-related issues are available in the linuxptp-snap project repository at https://github.com/canonical/linuxptp-snap.
In MirrorNest, linuxptp is listed for Linux in the System Tools category. MirrorNest mirrors the official build directly onto its own storage, rather than describing the catalog copy as a changed version of the package. The mirrored build is scanned for malware before it is published. This gives Linux users a catalog distribution point while preserving the package’s open-source status and snap-based platform context.
