Linwood Butterfly2.6.2

Create sketches, handwritten notes, diagrams, and other image-based work on an open, paper-like canvas with Linwood Butterfly. Its infinite workspace lets you place ideas freely instead of restricting them to a fixed page, making it useful for visual planning, study notes, and quick illustrations.

You can draw with a stylus or touch device, add text, and adjust text font, size, and color. Rectangles, circles, lines, and images become separate editable elements whose position, dimensions, and color can be changed later. Images can be selected from a device gallery or captured with the device, while custom colors and palettes let you tailor the appearance of the workspace.

Linwood Butterfly also imports and exports image, PDF, and SVG files; after the application is registered, these files can be opened for editing. Areas and waypoints provide structure for organizing larger notes, and content can be kept locally, stored through a preferred WebDAV cloud, or exported to a file for later import. Drawing, painting, and exporting notes work offline, so those activities do not depend on an internet connection.

Developed by codedoctorde, this open-source note-taking software is available on Linux for x86_64 (amd64) systems and requires snapd; the current release is 2.6.2. Its minimal, cross-platform design suits students, designers, planners, and anyone who prefers combining writing, drawing, images, and structured visual notes in one workspace.
