About

Markdownr is an open-source Android application in the Reading & Writing category. It converts a web page identified by a URL into Markdown. The converted content can be sent to a notes application through Android’s standard sharing function. It is intended for people who want to move interesting articles into a Markdown-based note-taking workflow, including one that uses Git to synchronize notes with a PC.

Users can enter a URL in Markdownr’s input field to download the specified web page and convert it. The resulting Markdown can then be shared with another application. A URL can also be sent to Markdownr from another app, such as a web browser. In that case, Markdownr automatically converts the page and presents the Android share function for sending the result onward.

As an Android tool, Markdownr connects web reading with writing and note-taking applications on the same platform. Its support for incoming shared URLs provides an alternative to entering addresses manually. Its open-source license identifies the application as software whose source is available under an open-source license. MirrorNest distributes the official build directly from its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing.
