MinCal Widget

MinCal Widget is an open-source Android widget in the Calendar & Agenda category. It provides a compact view of the month that contains the current date, keeping that month visible on the device’s home screen. It is intended for people who want calendar information available without opening the calendar application first.

The widget uses a 3x2 layout and can be resized. It displays events from the user’s calendars with symbols, using a generic symbol when the number of events becomes high. Pressing the top-right corner opens the widget’s configuration through the available native widget settings access. Pressing another part of the widget opens the calendar application.

MinCal Widget has no advertisements or payments. Its settings allow the user to choose the first day of the week, theme, symbol set, symbol-set colour, transparency, and text size. The configuration also includes an option to show week numbers, so the display can be adjusted to different calendar preferences.

As an Android application, it fits the platform’s home-screen widget model and provides information through a resizable widget rather than only through a standalone application view. Its open-source license allows the software to be distributed as an openly licensed product.
