About
miracle-wm lets you control windows and switch between workspaces through keyboard-driven commands instead of relying primarily on pointer interaction. It manages graphical sessions with a configurable workspace model suited to users who want their working environment arranged to their preferences. As a Wayland compositor built on Mir, it provides a modern foundation for running and organizing desktop applications.
Its workflow brings the keyboard-focused efficiency associated with i3 and Sway into a more extensible environment. A clean YAML configuration lets you shape compositor behavior and workspace settings through readable configuration rather than fixed defaults. Smooth animations give transitions a polished feel while preserving the compositor’s functional focus. A WebAssembly plugin system provides an additional way for technically inclined users to extend or customize its behavior.
miracle-wm is aimed at Linux users who prefer configurable, keyboard-centered window management for development, terminal-heavy work, or carefully organized graphical sessions. It is published by Matthew Kosarek, and the current version is v0.11.2 for x86_64 (amd64) systems. It runs on Linux, requires snapd, and is open-source.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: x86_64 (amd64)
