miriway

miriway is an open-source system tool for Linux. It is not a complete desktop environment on its own. Instead, it can serve as a basis for building a desktop environment by bringing together suitable components on the host system. This makes it relevant to users who want to work with a configurable Linux graphical setup rather than install a finished desktop environment.

The software includes example setup scripts intended to provide starting points for different arrangements. These examples cover LXQt, MATE, Sway, XFCE, and a configuration identified as alan_g. The scripts are located under the miriway installation path in the example-configs directory. They are supplied on a best-effort basis because their results depend on the current level of Wayland support provided by the corresponding components on the host operating system.

miriway is based on Mir and fits MirrorNest’s system-tools category because it provides a foundation for assembling a Linux graphical environment. Its open-source license allows the software and its setup approach to be used within that model of development and configuration. MirrorNest mirrors the official miriway build directly on its own storage. Before publication, the mirrored build is scanned for malware.
