About

Scan a network to find active hosts, inspect their open ports, and identify the services reachable through them. nmap also detects service protocols and application versions, and can fingerprint a remote host’s operating system or device type.

Targets and ports can be specified flexibly for network exploration and security auditing. Its scanning options include decoy and stealth techniques, sunRPC scanning, and multiple port-scanning methods.

On Linux, nmap 7.95 runs on x86_64 (amd64) systems with snapd. After installation, its network-control connection must be enabled manually with sudo snap connect nmap:network-control. It supports command-line and GUI modes, and is published by Maximiliano Bertacchini.

Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: x86_64 (amd64)
