No More Background2.8.2

No More Background presents your Android apps in a single list and lets you decide which ones may run in the background. It applies those choices through adb, Shizuku, or root access, giving you a direct way to limit background activity. This can reduce battery use and mobile-data consumption from apps such as rarely used takeaway services or games that continue working when you are not using them. Once the permissions are set, you can close the program and leave the configuration in place instead of repeating daily optimization.

For apps you open only occasionally, right-clicking or long-pressing an entry lets you archive it: Android removes the app while preserving its data, then reinstalls it when you open it again, retaining your logged-in state. Some applications may still run in the background even after being disabled here, so the controls do not guarantee that every process will stop. Version 2.8.2 changes the long-press/right-click menu into a dialog, adds explanations for every button, and provides commands to stop or force-stop an app.

The release also improves movement between pages, adds Greek translation, corrects a typo in the background-data toggles, and fixes selection of the wrong toggle. No More Background is open-source System Tools software for Linux, suited to people managing Android devices who want one place to control background permissions and occasionally archive unused apps.
