About

ntfy - PUT/POST to your phone is an Android client for the ntfy.sh notification service. It uses an HTTP-based publish-subscribe model, where the app subscribes to topics and receives messages published to those topics. The service is designed for sending notifications from scripts or applications to a phone. It is suited to people who need updates from local tasks, servers, or their own software.

Messages can be published with HTTP PUT or POST requests using a simple API. A Bash or PowerShell script can send a notification, including through curl on Linux or Invoke-WebRequest. For example, a backup script can post a message when its work is complete. The same approach can report a failed backup or alert a user when someone logs into a server.

As an Android application in the System Tools category, ntfy provides a phone-based destination for technical and operational notifications. It works with the free and open-source ntfy.sh service, while the application itself is open-source. MirrorNest distributes the official Android build directly from its own storage. MirrorNest scans that build for malware before publishing it in the catalog.

Requires Android 8.0+
