About
OGEX is a node-based studio for building live visuals on Linux. Users connect nodes into a graph, and OGEX runs that graph as it is being edited. Changing a value updates the resulting visual immediately, supporting an interactive approach to creating and refining work.
The software works with images, 3D scenes, particles, and fluid simulations in one environment. It also brings audio, MIDI, and DMX lighting into the same visual workflow. Live camera and screen capture can be used as input sources. Users can write their own shaders and use local AI helpers for captions, segmentation, and background removal.
OGEX is intended for VJs, lighting designers, and visual artists. Its live graph model supports developing visuals from an initial sketch through a stage presentation. The combination of visual content, simulation, audio, control data, lighting, and live capture makes it suited to work where visuals need to respond during creation or performance.
MirrorNest classifies OGEX in the Graphics & Design category for the Linux platform. Its license is commercial, which distinguishes it from software distributed under a free or open-source license. MirrorNest links directly to the official release instead of hosting a mirrored copy, so the catalog serves as a route to the publisher’s release.
