About
oink keeps Porkbun domain DNS records updated by running a lightweight Dynamic DNS (DDNS) service in the background. Built in Go by Ricard Lado, it is an unofficial client for porkbun.com that uses only Go’s standard library. It is intended for Porkbun domain owners who need a Linux service to maintain changing network addresses automatically.
Before starting the service, enable API ACCESS in the control panel for the relevant Porkbun domain. Add the required setup data to /var/snap/oink/common/config.json, which is the configuration file used by the Snap installation. Examples in the project repository show the structure expected for this file.
oink is installed and operated as a service through Snap, so running snap start --enable oink both starts it and enables automatic startup. The command snap logs oink lets you inspect the service output and check for errors while confirming that it is running in the background.
The current 1.4.0 release runs on x86_64 (amd64) Linux systems with snapd. oink is open-source software, and its configuration must be prepared before the service can perform DDNS updates.
