About
Run OpenThread Border Router on a Linux host to connect Thread networking with the host’s surrounding IP network, giving Thread devices a border-router service for communication beyond the Thread mesh. It provides the OpenThread Border Router (OTBR) implementation for systems that need to operate at that network boundary. The software is intended for developers, administrators, and other people working with OpenThread on Linux.
The package uses snap packaging to support setting up and running OTBR on Linux, while the underlying router is developed by the OpenThread Authors. It is published by Canonical IoT Labs and suits development environments, administrative deployments, and other Linux systems used to work with Thread networks. The current platform scope is limited to Ubuntu and Ubuntu Core, so other Linux distributions are outside its stated support scope.
Installation and operation require Linux with snapd, and the supported architecture is x86_64 (amd64). The software is distributed under an open-source license.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: x86_64 (amd64)
