Orchis Themes for Snaps1.0

Apply Orchis styling to snapped GTK applications by exposing the theme resources they can consume through snap interfaces. Orchis Themes for Snaps packages the Orchis GTK theme set specifically for applications distributed as snaps, so supported apps can match the surrounding desktop instead of using unrelated styling.

Orchis is a Material Design theme created for GNOME and other GTK-based desktop environments. An individual snap can use it through the gtk-3-themes plug connected to this package’s gtk-3-themes interface. Snaps that provide a gtk-common-themes plug can also be connected to Orchis, making the package useful for selectively themed applications rather than only for a complete desktop theme change. When Orchis is used alongside the Tela icon theme, the separate tela-icons snap is needed for application icons to appear correctly in the store, and that package provides the relevant connection guidance.

Genadi Naydenov publishes this open-source package, which incorporates the work from vinceliuice’s Orchis-theme project. Version 1.0 requires Linux with snapd and is built for x86_64 (amd64) systems. It suits Linux users who run snap-based software and want a consistent Orchis appearance in GTK applications that support the corresponding theme connections.
