P7Zip1.7.1

P7Zip lets users compress selected files into archives and extract the contents of existing ones, solving the practical need to handle compressed data directly on a phone or tablet. It can open an archive for access and includes a separate operation for deleting an archive that is no longer needed. Based on p7zip, it handles popular formats such as RAR, ZIP, TAR, and LZMA.

Typical uses include packaging files for transfer, unpacking an archive received on a mobile device, and removing old packages after their contents have been used. Alongside its direct archive operations, P7Zip is also a compression and extraction library that developers can embed in mobile applications through its AAR package. Its native code is compiled with gradle-experimental, which suits Android projects incorporating archive support into their own software.

P7Zip 1.7.1 is an Android System Tools utility available for arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 architectures. The developer’s testing covers Android 4.x, 5.x, and 6.0, giving users of those platform generations a concrete compatibility reference. It is released under an open-source license associated with 7-Zip, making the licensing terms relevant both to end users and developers integrating the library.
