Permission Pilot lets you inspect every app’s requested permissions in one place, showing each permission’s current status and avoiding the scattered views found across Android settings. It is an open-source Android app in the System Tools category. By consolidating entries from App Info, Permissions Manager, Special Access, and other locations, it gives privacy-conscious users a single overview of app access.

The Apps tab covers all installed apps, including system apps and work profile apps, and shows requested permissions, their status, internet permissions, and SharedUserID status. The Permissions tab displays every permission present on the device, grouped into areas such as Contacts, Microphone, and Camera, with each permission linked to the apps requesting it. Apps and permissions support free-text search, sorting, and filtering, making the app useful for auditing a device, investigating an unfamiliar permission, or reviewing changes after an app update. An overview dashboard groups app counts by privacy, security, install source, and other categories, with each row opening a matching filtered app list.

Permission Watcher checks apps after every update, notifying you when new permissions are added or existing ones change and producing a report. Data can be exported as Markdown, CSV, or JSON, while a searchable viewer exposes categorized raw application declarations and shows which apps can discover other installed apps. Version 2.2.4-rc0 includes bug fixes and small improvements that help you see what your apps are doing. It supports Android 6.0+ on arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices. If an update behaves oddly, reports can be sent through Settings > Support; this one-person project may take a little while to reply, but every report is read.
