PhotoScape

PhotoScape is a commercial photo editing application for Linux in the Graphics & Design category. It is designed for viewing, correcting, arranging, converting, and printing photos. The application can help users work with individual images as well as groups of photos.

Its Viewer displays photos from a folder and can create a slideshow. The Editor supports resizing, brightness and color adjustment, white balance, backlight correction, frames, balloons, mosaic effects, text, drawing, cropping, filters, red-eye removal, blooming, a paint brush, a clone stamp, and an effect brush. The Batch editor applies edits to multiple photos, while Rename changes multiple photo file names in batch mode. The Color Picker can zoom into an image and locate and select a color.

PhotoScape also provides Page and Combine tools for assembling several photos into one final image, either within a page frame or vertically or horizontally. Its Animated GIF function uses multiple photos to create a final animated photo, and the Splitter divides one photo into several pieces. Additional tools include screenshot capture with saving, RAW-to-JPG conversion, similar-face searching on the Internet, and printing for portraits, carte de visites, passport photos, lined paper, graph paper, music paper, and calendar paper.

PhotoScape is a Windows application that runs on Linux through the Wine compatibility layer. MirrorNest does not mirror the application files and instead links directly to the official release. This distribution arrangement gives Linux users a catalog entry that identifies the commercial software, its platform context, and the official location from which it is released.
