Prism delivers UnifiedPush notifications to Android devices through Mozilla’s push server, giving apps an app-based distributor for receiving push messages. It is designed with privacy in mind and handles notification delivery without requiring each app to implement its own push transport. This makes it useful when an Android user needs a dedicated UnifiedPush component for compatible applications.

An optional self-hosted Prism server extends the setup beyond ordinary push delivery. The server can watch a Proton Mail inbox and forward notifications to Signal, Telegram, or the Prism app itself. It can also accept messages from other services through a webhook API compatible with ntfy, allowing external systems to feed alerts into the same notification path.

Prism suits Android users running UnifiedPush-enabled apps, as well as people routing personal or service alerts through a privately operated server. It is open-source software for Android 12 and newer, with builds for arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices.

Version 1.4.2 expands the interface from 19 languages to 51, covering German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Czech, Dutch, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and others throughout the interface rather than only in system dialogs. The Register button, connection dialogs, and several settings labels also now use corrected wording in languages where their translations were previously wrong.
