Ptyxis50.1

Ptyxis gives GNOME users a container-oriented terminal for working directly in shell sessions. It remembers the current container when a new tab opens, preserving that context across tabs. Container support includes Podman, Toolbox, Distrobox, and more.

Its tabbed interface offers tab overviews, pinned tabs, and saved sessions. Keyboard shortcuts are configurable, while preference profiles can include container integration. Users can install their own color palettes, and the interface also provides integrated palettes with light and dark support. The palette is coordinated with the window styling, and terminal backgrounds can be transparent.

A separate process mode accommodates terminal-based applications, and each terminal tab runs in its own cgroup. The terminal inspector helps developers examine behavior while writing terminal-based applications. These features make Ptyxis suited to container-focused development and administration from GNOME. Ptyxis 50.1 is open-source software for Linux.
