QuickAccess places a global menu at your fingertips for opening frequently used folders and running personal commands. It stays active in the background, making the same menu available across your desktop instead of tying access to one file manager window. User-defined folders appear with their subfolders, and custom commands can be added to the menu and executed from it.

D-Bus provides two ways to open the menu: showMenu displays it immediately, while showDelayedMenu waits before displaying it. Either method can place the menu at a predefined fixed location or at the current mouse position. Immediate display can occasionally leave the menu invisible or prevent it from closing, so the delayed method is intended for those situations and uses a 150-millisecond delay by default, which can be changed. A call such as dbus-send --type=method_call --dest=com.georgefb.quickaccess /QuickAccess com.georgefb.QuickAccess.showMenu int32:x opens the immediate menu, while adding int32:200 before int32:x invokes the delayed version; replace x with a value from 0 to 9 to choose the preferred position.

Version 3.2.0 adds folders and commands to the tray icon menu, giving users another direct entry point alongside D-Bus control.
