Remember: Notes & Reminders keeps an unfinished task visible after you dismiss its notification, bringing it back until you mark it done. This prevents an accidental swipe from making an important item disappear, while completed reminders are removed for good.

Choose standard reminders, high-importance alerts with heads-up notifications, or a quiet summary that pins overdue and upcoming items in the notification shade. Notifications can include one-tap actions for calling, messaging, emailing, getting directions, opening a link, app, or shortcut, copying text, or sharing content. Natural presets cover soon, later today, this evening, and tomorrow morning, while schedules can repeat hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, including patterns such as the last Friday of each month with an end date or occurrence limit.

The Android app combines Markdown notes—with headings, bold, italics, underlining, links, and code blocks—with nested checklists for groceries, packing, and project tasks. Tags, stars, archiving, trash, full-text search, filters, sorting, and bulk actions help manage and retrieve larger collections. Home-screen widgets show upcoming reminders and starred notes, and persistent notifications or Quick Settings tiles provide rapid note capture.

Remember can import Google Tasks through a connected account or a Google Takeout file; this read-only import leaves Google Tasks unchanged. Backups can include attached media, support restoration on a new device, and merge imported notes into the current collection. Material You colors, custom presets, fonts, palette styles, gradients, black OLED mode, and cover images allow extensive visual customization, while notes remain stored locally without tracking, analytics, or automated background telemetry; data leaves the phone only through explicit actions such as optional update checks or manual backup exports.
