About
Use ros2-snapd to query and control snap-managed services from a ROS 2 system, including starting, stopping, or restarting a named service. Published by Ubuntu Robotics Community, it supplies a ROS 2 Jazzy node that translates ROS 2 service requests into operations on snap services. This bridge gives robotics applications a ROS 2 interface for managing services that are maintained by snapd.
The node exposes a listing service at /ros2_snapd/list, using the ros_snapd_interfaces/srv/SnapdList service type to report available snap services. Separate ROS 2 services at /ros2_snapd/start, /ros2_snapd/stop, and /ros2_snapd/restart perform the corresponding actions. Each control request identifies its target by service name, supplied through a field such as service.name.
Designed for Linux users working with ROS 2 and snap-managed components, ros2-snapd fits robot software stacks and other automated systems that need service control through ROS 2 calls. It requires Linux together with snapd and supports amd64 and arm64 architectures. The System Tools utility is freeware, and its current version is 0+git.4b3df0e.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: amd64, arm64
