About
ros2-teleop is an open-source Linux system tool for teleoperating a robot with ROS 2. It supports control from a keyboard or gamepad, and can also leave robot movement to the navigation stack. This makes it suitable for users who need direct manual control as well as setups that combine teleoperation with navigation-based operation.
The gamepad application starts both the gamepad driver and the joystick teleoperation node. Its settings include the velocity topic, joystick device, joystick configuration, configuration-file path, and whether to publish stamped twist messages. A joystick configuration can be selected by name or supplied through a local file or URL, with a provided file taking precedence when both options are set. Keyboard control is also available, including use through a session such as SSH, with an optional velocity topic setting.
For Linux users, ros2-teleop is categorized in MirrorNest under System Tools. MirrorNest stores a direct mirror of the official build and scans it for malware before publishing it. The package is distributed as open-source software through the catalog.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: x86_64 (amd64)
