About
snap-store-proxy places a caching proxy between an organization’s snap-enabled devices and the Snap Store, so repeated snap downloads can be served from a local cache. After the proxy is configured, devices can be directed to use it for their Snap Store connections. It also provides a single network egress point for Snap Store traffic, helping administrators centralize outbound access.
Administrators can cache snap downloads for a fleet and override the revisions that devices receive from the store. Revision overrides let a controlled group remain on a selected snap revision instead of automatically moving to the store’s current revision. This arrangement suits managed Linux environments where multiple snap devices share network policies or request the same snaps repeatedly.
Canonical publishes snap-store-proxy as commercial System Tools software for Linux. It runs on amd64 systems with Linux and snapd, including deployments based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. A deployment uses the proxy alongside snapd-equipped devices configured to communicate through it. The current release is version 2.34.
Requires Linux + snapd · Architecture: amd64
