T16Fling1.3.0

T16Fling lets you enter text on an Android phone running version 7.0 or later by tapping or swiping across 16 oversized keys. Its 4x4 layout resembles a numeric keypad, with each key assigning characters to specific fling directions. The main character appears larger and darker on the left, while secondary characters appear smaller and lighter on the right. Tapping produces the main character, and a quick swipe in a direction produces the secondary character assigned to that direction.

For example, the key marked with a large 2 and the smaller letters abc enters 2 when tapped, or a, b, and c when swiped left, up, and right. Holding that key reveals additional choices such as á, à, â, ä, ã, and ç, which can then be tapped directly. The 0 key maps every fling direction to a space, while swiping the shift key upward enables Caps Lock and swiping it downward disables it; backspace and enter behave identically when tapped or swiped.

After installation, enable the keyboard through Settings > System > Languages & input > Virtual keyboard > Manage keyboards. It suits phone users who prefer directional gestures and large targets for compact text entry, especially when accented characters are useful. T16Fling is open-source System Tools software with Universal architecture, and version 1.3.0 adds a French keyboard.
