The Lounge is an open-source communication client that brings modern interface features to Internet Relay Chat (IRC). It is designed for people who use IRC and want access to familiar conversations through a current web-based interface. The application can remain connected to IRC servers while the user is offline, allowing the session to continue between visits. Its synchronized experience lets users resume conversations from where they left off across supported devices.

The client includes push notifications, link previews, and markers for new messages. Its responsive interface is intended to work on desktops, smartphones, and tablets. MirrorNest distributes the official Linux build directly from its own storage. Each mirrored build is scanned for malware before publication. The software listens on TCP port 9000 by default, and users can open its web interface at the local address or at the relevant server address when accessing another machine. The Linux setup supports creating a Lounge user with a password, and HTTPS can be enabled through the provided certificate-generation and configuration process.
