Universal Installer lets users install regular APKs, split packages, and app bundles with OBB data when standard system handling is insufficient. It accepts standard APK files, APK+ bundles, APKS split bundles, XAPK packages with OBB data, and APKM split bundles. Packages can be selected through a storage-scanning picker, package browser, or full file browser, while a remote URL saves the package under its original filename in Download/UniversalInstaller/; its transfer history supports reinstalling, opening the source URL, and managing the saved file.

APK links opened from Chrome, Gmail, or Telegram can be handled even when their URLs lack file extensions. Before installation, the preview shows the package name, icon, version, identifier, size, SDK targets, CPU architectures, languages, permissions, and counts for split and OBB files. OBB data found inside XAPK or APKM packages is copied into Android/obb/, and a separate OBB file can be attached to an APK from the preview sheet.

A foreground worker continues copying OBB data with progress notifications after the app is left, using direct I/O, Shizuku, or SAF with a per-package folder grant when necessary. Silent installation can use Shizuku without root, Root on rooted devices, or Dhizuku without root or ADB; Dhizuku operates as a device owner, survives reboots, and requires a device with no signed-in accounts. Installer Profiles save reusable installation flags, spoofed installers, and target users, making the app useful for managing split packages and repeatable installs.

The Material 3 interface uses spring-physics animations and a high-contrast orange theme by default. Version 1.20.0 adds optional backup of OBB and media expansion data into .xapk files and improves update tracking with more accurate installation-state detection. It runs on Android 7.0 or later for arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices, and is open-source.
