Unvcode replaces ordinary text characters with visually similar Unicode characters, giving the user a differently encoded version that still looks close to the original. It is designed for anti-censorship use, helping text pass through situations where familiar character forms are restricted or filtered. The visual resemblance preserves the apparent wording while the underlying characters have changed.

At its center is a character-substitution operation: the user applies alternate Unicode characters when writing or handling text that may be subject to filtering. This makes it useful for people preparing written material in environments where character-based restrictions affect what can be posted or processed. Rather than acting as a general system utility, it concentrates on transforming written content.

As the Kotlin project’s mobile edition, Unvcode is available as open-source software for Android 7.0 and later. Its build supports Universal architecture, and the current version is 0.2. Its distinctive approach changes the textual representation while retaining a familiar visual appearance.
