Video Live Wallpaper is an open-source Android application in the System Tools category.
Pick any video from your device and set it as a looping live wallpaper. Applies to both home screen and lock screen simultaneously — this is how Android live wallpapers work on all devices.
Features: * Pick a video using the system file picker * Preview it looping before setting it * Adjustable playback speed * Choose between "fill" (crop to fit) and "fit" (show the whole frame) scaling * One-tap wallpaper setting
This app contains no ads, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. It does not request internet access. The only data it stores is a reference to the video you choose, kept locally on your device.
Note: the system wallpaper picker may still present a Home / Lock / Both option depending on your device's launcher. This is controlled by your device manufacturer, not by this app — the video will play on whichever surfaces are selected.

What's new in v1.3.0
Adds animated GIF support: pick a GIF with the file picker and set it as a looping live wallpaper, with the same speed, Fill and Fit controls as video. Also fixes portrait videos recorded on phones appearing rotated and stretched, playback speed not returning to normal after moving the slider, and the in-app video preview ignoring Fill/Fit. GIF decoding is built into the app, with no new libraries.
