Voxel Paint2.3.3

Paint three-dimensional scenes by placing, removing, and arranging textured voxel nodes in a freely navigable workspace. Voxel Paint is open-source Linux software from James William Fletcher for working with block-based designs through direct mouse and keyboard controls. It suits creators who need to sketch or edit voxel-style structures while moving around them rather than manipulating a flat image.

During editing, the program captures the mouse inside its window; pressing Escape releases it. W, A, S, and D move along the X and Y axes, while Space and Left Shift handle Z-axis movement; Left Click or Right Shift places a node, Right Click or Right Control removes one, and Q or Middle Click copies the texture beneath the pointer. R places a node at the current position, E, F, or Mouse4 enables fast movement, keys 1 through 7 adjust speed, and T, G, and P reset the player state, toggle gravity, and lock pitch respectively.

Dragging with the middle mouse button, Mouse4, or Q selects multiple nodes, which V copies, B recolors, and N deletes. X and C, or Slash and Quote, change the pointed node’s texture, while the arrow keys shift the view. F3 saves the current work, F8 restores the saved state and discards later edits, and automatic saves occur on exit and after more than three minutes without activity.

The included tileset contains 17 blocks and can be customized by editing dataPath/tiles.ppm as a PPM using the P6 272 16 255 header; Krita and KolourPaint can edit this file. Version 2.3.3 requires Linux with snapd and runs on x86_64 (amd64) systems under its open-source license.
