Whatly

Whatly is an open-source communication application for managing multiple WhatsApp accounts on Linux. It can place each account in its own window or combine accounts as tabs within one window. Every account uses a separate session and has its own settings, allowing accounts to remain distinct while being used from the same desktop application. The software is based on the MIT-licensed WhatSie project, and the current fork is maintained by Ángel Guzmán Maeso.

Whatly supports scheduled message delivery, including sending a message when the application next launches if it was closed at the scheduled time. Its appearance settings include fourteen chat themes, a chat wallpaper, custom CSS, selectable rendering fonts, adjustable interface text size, and light or dark themes that can follow the system preference. Privacy controls can blur the chat list and the open conversation until the pointer moves over them, while a PIN can lock the application automatically after a configurable period. A spell checker supports 31 languages and can check several languages at the same time.

Desktop integration includes native system notifications, configurable in-app notification popups, and a system tray with an unread badge, an optional monochrome icon, and a connection indicator. Supported taskbars can show unread totals, while a connection watchdog can reload a stalled session and an optional setting can reload the page after a crash. Global keyboard shortcuts, a built-in download manager, per-session audio muting, notification suppression, configurable zoom, HiDPI and 4K scaling, and a custom user-agent setting provide additional controls for desktop use.

MirrorNest lists Whatly under Communication for Linux and distributes the official build directly from its own storage. MirrorNest scans the build for malware before publishing it for download, giving readers a distribution copy that is checked before release. Whatly also has a Windows build and an experimental macOS build, and its interface is translated into 30 languages. Its open-source license allows the software to be used as an open-source project, while Linux remains the primary platform represented in this catalog.
