ZArchiver lets Android users create, browse, modify, extract, and open archives directly on a device. Published by ZDevs as an Android System Tools utility, it also manages application backups stored in archives, including installing APK and OBB files from those backups. It can open archive files from mail applications and supports password-protected archives, partial decompression, and opening compressed files.

New archives can be created in 7z, zip, bzip2, gzip, XZ, lz4, tar, and zst formats, while contents can be decompressed or viewed from 7z, zip, rar, rar5, iso, tar, deb, rpm, dmg, wim, and zst files. Supported zip, 7z, tar, APK, and MTZ archives can be edited by adding or removing files, and multipart archives can be created for 7z or decompressed for 7z and rar. Split 7z, zip, and rar sets are also supported, including names such as 7z.001, zip.001, part1.rar, and z01.

Starting with Android 9, files smaller than 10 MB can be opened directly without extraction to a temporary folder when possible. Multithreaded processing can use multicore processors for operations that benefit from it, while UTF-8 and UTF-16 filename support accommodates archives containing national symbols in their names. These features suit people who exchange archives between apps, inspect packaged files, or restore application backups.
