Run classic Commodore software on a modern device, including games, vintage programs, and new creations in an 1980s style. 8-Bit Wonders emulates the C64, VIC-20, PET, C128, Plus/4, and C16, with an included library of systems and preinstalled games. It works across phones, tablets, and Android TVs, giving retro-computing enthusiasts and newcomers a way to explore these machines in one place.

Play with hardware joysticks, gamepads, mice, a virtual touch joystick, or hardware and virtual keyboards whose layouts can be customized. Buttons can be mapped to keystrokes, auto-fire can be enabled, and save states plus a time-machine function let you rewind play and undo mistakes. CRT emulation adds the appearance of a classic display, while a dedicated demo mode plays audio in the background or presents visual demos in a clean movie-style view without Android interface elements.

Disk and tape formats supported by VICE are compatible, and additional games or applications can be imported as 8bw or rp9 files, including files made with C64 Forever. Users can also add their own save states and retrieve content from archive.org, github.com, gitlab.com, and zimmers.net; those services receive the device’s public IP address, while the app collects no personal data. This open-source Developer Tools software requires Android 4.4 or newer and supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 architectures.

Version 0.8.11 can align the device display refresh rate with emulation when possible, offers SID model, filter, and second-SID settings, and fixes crashes and numeric-key handling on C128 and PET keyboards.
