No More Background2.8.2

No More Background lets you select apps and decide which ones may retain permission to run in the background, giving you per-app control over inactive processes. It presents those apps in a single list, so you can adjust several choices together instead of revisiting each app for daily optimization. After making the selections, you can close the app rather than manage them repeatedly.

Access to this control is provided through adb, Shizuku, or root, according to the access method available on your device. You can also stop an app or force-stop it from the app’s controls. Some apps may continue running in the background after their background permission is disabled, so the setting does not guarantee that they will terminate.

For apps you open only rarely, the archive function uninstalls the app while preserving its data; opening it again reinstalls it and retains the logged-in state. This suits Android users who want to limit background activity for individual apps, particularly seldom-used apps or apps they do not want active while inactive.

Version 2.8.2 converts the long-press or right-click menu into a dialog, adds explanations to each button, and improves transitions between pages. It also adds Greek translation and corrects both a background-data-toggle typo and an issue that could select the wrong toggle. No More Background is open-source Developer Tools software for Android 7.0 and later, built for the arm64-v8a architecture.
