A Photo Tool (Libre)1.0.7-1

Open image files and adjust their appearance with A Photo Tool (Libre), a compact editor for ordinary photo corrections. Jari Ahola publishes the program as open-source software, with controls intended for people who want direct corrections rather than an elaborate retouching workflow. It suits quick fixes to personal photographs, scanned pictures, and other image files when the task is to improve framing or basic tonal balance.

Exposure, contrast, and white balance controls address common lighting and color problems, while additional basic adjustments provide further correction options. Users can crop, rotate, and resize a picture, or turn a color image into black and white. Grayscale conversion includes controls for deciding how the source colors contribute to the resulting tones, rather than applying only one fixed interpretation. JPEG and PNG files are supported along with some other image formats, making the editor useful for routine work across common file types.

The File menu includes a print command, but printing works only when the application has print documents permission in the Software Store. If the printer list shows only PDF creation, enabling the relevant app-store permission may expose printer output; the supplied cups-control connection command is another way to make that connection available. The first installation can take extra time because Snap loads the shared components the editor needs onto the system. Version 1.0.7-1 requires Linux and snapd and is available for x86_64 (amd64) hardware.
