AlexGames lets you play simple Lua games and host a web-games server from an Android device. Its web engine runs the games independently of the Android-native interface, making it useful for playing, inspecting, and developing Lua projects. People can study the included examples or create and upload their own games through the same environment.

The engine provides an English dictionary for word-puzzle games, along with multiplayer support through WebSockets. A game’s state can be shared in a URL, while automatic saving and undo and redo controls preserve progress and make experimentation easier. The Android app bundles the web version for offline play and also includes a native Android implementation, although the web version is the more polished option.

The phone includes a prototype server that accepts HTTP and WebSocket connections, allowing people on the same local network to play web games together through that device. Multiplayer over networks beyond this local arrangement is provided by the web version. Version 0.0.3 is an open-source Android Developer Tools release requiring Android 7.0 or newer, with arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 support.
