amazon-ssm-agent3.3.4793.0

amazon-ssm-agent receives commands for an Amazon EC2 instance and applies the configuration or operation described by the associated SSM document. Acting as the bridge between AWS Systems Manager instructions and the instance, it processes those documents on Linux and carries out their prescribed steps. Administrators use it to manage instance configuration through repeatable, documented procedures instead of manually performing each operation.

A central capability is Run Command, which can invoke the AWS-RunShellScript SSM document to execute shell scripts on managed Linux instances. An SSM document contains the administrator’s intended instructions or configuration, while the agent receives the command, processes the relevant document, and performs its operation locally. Its role is to act on documented instructions issued for the instance rather than provide a separate interface for authoring those instructions.

Amazon Web Services publishes amazon-ssm-agent for administrators managing Linux EC2 instances and applying defined procedures to managed machines. The Linux build targets x86_64 (amd64) architecture and requires Linux with snapd. Version 3.3.4793.0 is open-source software in the Internet & Browsers category.
