ASCIIQuarium (UNOFFICIAL)1.1-snap9378

ASCIIQuarium (UNOFFICIAL) fills a terminal window with a continuously changing aquarium and sea scene made entirely from ASCII characters. It gives users a lightweight visual animation for ambient display, demonstrations, or a playful terminal backdrop without relying on conventional graphics. The program is controlled from the keyboard while it runs, rather than through command-line options.

Press q to quit the animation, p to pause or resume it, and r to redraw the scene by recreating all of its entities. It accepts no command-line arguments, so its interaction is limited to these in-session controls.

Published by 林博仁 Buo-ren Lin, this open-source software is distributed in the Video & Media Players category for Linux systems with snapd on x86_64 (amd64) hardware. The package uses the Snap format, described by its publisher as a universal Linux package format, and the current version is 1.1-snap9378.

Most of the ASCII artwork comes from Joan Stark, while the origin of the remaining artwork is not identified. This is an unofficial Snap distribution, and support for using it is directed to the snap's own issue tracker, brlin-tw/asciiquarium-snap, rather than an official ASCIIQuarium support channel.
