AVWOWE

AVWOWE is a generative media player and kiosk system for Linux. It is designed for screens that need to display photos and videos continuously without requiring a playlist or manual curation. Users point it to a folder, and playback begins immediately in a continuous loop. It can support home TV displays, digital photo frames, event and venue loops, retail displays, pop-up installations, and other screens that need to remain active.

The software can limit videos to a specified length, create automatic jump cuts, and begin clips at random points. These options can keep playback varied even when the media folder is small. AVWOWE also supports floating picture-in-picture overlays, a scrolling ticker supplied by a local file or live URL, and a corner watermark. New photos or videos added to the folder are picked up automatically.

Transitions, overlay behavior, ticker styling, and other settings can be configured. A remote configuration URL allows settings to be updated across multiple machines without handling each device separately.
