BeatBridge: Bluetooth Music

BeatBridge: Bluetooth Music is an Android utility for connecting Bluetooth device events with media playback controls. It lets users choose a paired Bluetooth device and monitor whether that device connects. When a monitored device connects, the app can send Android’s standard media play command to the active media session.

Users can configure playback to start automatically when the connection is detected. Alternatively, BeatBridge can display an Ask on connect notification so the user can decide whether to begin playback. The connection notification can also provide direct access to the current media app or Android audio settings. A separate equalizer profile can be created for each selected Bluetooth device.

A lightweight foreground service keeps monitoring active in the background and responds to connection events without constant polling. Notifications show connection status and can offer the configured actions. BeatBridge works offline, stores selected devices and preferences on the Android device, and has no accounts, advertisements, analytics, or network access.

Its operation relies on Android Bluetooth connections and the media controls exposed by compatible apps. The software is open-source and distributed under the GPLv3 license.
