Blackboard Sync0.18.0

Blackboard Sync automatically retrieves Blackboard Learn content and keeps a local copy available for offline access. It periodically performs incremental downloads, so newly uploaded lecture slides, lab sheets, and other attachments are collected with minimal intervention after the initial setup. Students can therefore keep course files on their device instead of repeatedly checking the student portal for updates.

The sync covers attachments of any type, including DOCX, PPTX, and PDF files, while Blackboard content descriptions are saved as HTML files. It uses the Blackboard REST API to communicate with supported institutions and can handle text documents, spreadsheets, lecture slides, and other course materials. Its scheduled, incremental approach distinguishes it from a one-time export by continuing to retrieve changed course content.

The program is intended for students who want course files gathered automatically during a term, particularly when they need lecture or laboratory materials offline. Support covers more than 30 universities worldwide in the original distribution, while the project homepage lists support for over 60 institutions; university support can be expanded by contributors. Updates and assistance are available through the project’s Matrix room, and the project also invites beta testers and other contributions.
