CADCraft lets users create and edit 2D and 3D computer-aided designs, including plans, layouts, and drafting documents, through a familiar command-driven workflow. Developed by the ArtCraft team as a clean-room AutoCAD-style project in pure Rust with egui, it combines a native desktop interface with drafting tools such as layers, dimensions, hatches, blocks, and object snaps.

Its command line accepts entries such as relative polar coordinates, while clickable keyword prompts, autocomplete, polar tracking, ortho mode, direct-distance input, grips, window and crossing selection, and right-click repeat support established drafting habits. Architects, designers, engineers, and hobbyists can use it for tasks such as apartment plans, where walls, room labels, tables, multileaders, and architectural dimensions are built from CADCraft commands.

CADCraft reads and writes ASCII and binary DXF files from R12 through 2018, opens and saves DWG files from R13 through 2018 through the open-source acadrust library, and exports drawings to SVG and PNG. It runs natively on macOS, Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD, with a WebAssembly build for browser use, and its macOS binary supports both Intel and Apple Silicon without Electron or a web view.

Version 0.17.0 remains in early, active development, so its current feature set is still expanding. The free application requires Rust 1.95 or later, uses installed TrueType/OpenType fonts, and can embed fonts when built with the optional CRAFT_FONTS_DIR input; the web build requires trunk, and use includes no account or subscription.
