FontBase2026.6.0

FontBase lets designers organize, preview, and activate fonts on a Mac without installing each typeface into the system. It addresses the difficulty of finding usable fonts across large libraries by combining collections, folder browsing, previews, and instant activation in one workspace. It belongs to Photo & Graphics, is freeware for macOS, and version 2026.6.0 requires macOS 12 Monterey or later on either Intel or Apple Silicon; the developer also describes FontBase as working on Windows.

Users can create collections and sub-collections, explore built-in collections, and activate a selected font with one click. Any computer folder can be added while remaining in its original location, so fonts in places such as Downloads appear inside FontBase, with nested folders shown according to the existing file structure. Fonts can be activated without installation, while autoactive folders turn on fonts as soon as they are added.

FontBase offers extensive OpenType feature support, a specimen page with styles, glyphs, waterfall views, and font-table data, plus a Glyphs view for copying characters from any font and language. Its Preview tab lets users style H1, H2, and other page elements by adjusting color, background, alignment, size, and line height, then export the resulting CSS for web projects. Designers can use fonts from Google’s library as though they were local, search instantly through thousands of files, and monitor new releases through Discover.

The program is aimed at graphic designers, typographers, and web designers who manage changing font libraries across creative projects. It also provides automatic updates and fast font loading and display, making large collections practical to browse during design work.
