Calaboka

Calaboka is a commercial application for Linux in the Music & Audio category. It connects to the official Spotify player and silences advertisements that play between tracks. It is intended for Spotify users who want playback muted during these interruptions without manually watching the player.

The application runs a background service that monitors Spotify discreetly. When an advertisement starts, Calaboka mutes Spotify immediately. When the next track begins, it fades the volume back in. Opening the Calaboka app lets users see what is happening, including how many advertisements were spared from playback.

Calaboka does not mute advertisements built into a track, such as advertisements inside a podcast. It cannot skip advertisements or block visual advertisements. It works only with the official Spotify application installed from the Snap Store or through the snap command.
